Psalm 132
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
A song of ascents. O LORD, for David's sake remember all his strenuous effort, 1A song of ascents. LORD, remember David and all his self-denial.
and how he made a vow to the LORD, and swore an oath to the powerful ruler of Jacob. 2He swore an oath to the LORD, he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
He said, "I will not enter my own home, or get into my bed. 3"I will not enter my house or go to my bed,
I will not allow my eyes to sleep, or my eyelids to slumber, 4I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
until I find a place for the LORD, a fine dwelling place for the powerful ruler of Jacob." 5till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
Look, we heard about it in Ephrathah, we found it in the territory of Jaar. 6We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
Let us go to his dwelling place! Let us worship before his footstool! 7"Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstool, saying,
Ascend, O LORD, to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength! 8Arise, LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.
May your priests be clothed with integrity! May your loyal followers shout for joy! 9May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy.'"
For the sake of David, your servant, do not reject your chosen king! 10For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed one.
The LORD made a reliable promise to David; he will not go back on his word. He said, "I will place one of your descendants on your throne. 11The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne.
If your sons keep my covenant and the rules I teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever." 12If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."
Certainly the LORD has chosen Zion; he decided to make it his home. 13For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
He said, "This will be my resting place forever; I will live here, for I have chosen it. 14"This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
I will abundantly supply what she needs; I will give her poor all the food they need. 15I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food.
I will protect her priests, and her godly people will shout exuberantly. 16I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.
There I will make David strong; I have determined that my chosen king's dynasty will continue. 17"Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
I will humiliate his enemies, and his crown will shine. 18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown."
