Hebrews 13
NIV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New International VersionEnglish Standard Version
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.1Let brotherly love continue.
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.3Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.4Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."5Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"6So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.7Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.9Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat.10We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp.11For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.12So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.13Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.
For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.14For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.15Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.16Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.
I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.19I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,20Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,
equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.21equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you quite briefly.22I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.23You should know that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom I shall see you if he comes soon.
Greet all your leaders and all the Lord's people. Those from Italy send you their greetings.24Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who come from Italy send you greetings.
Grace be with you all.25Grace be with all of you.
