NKJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.1Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.2Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long.3For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah4For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah5I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him.6Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.
You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah7You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.9Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.10Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
