Let brotherly love continue.1Let love of the brethren continue.
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.3Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.4Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”5Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"
So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”6so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?"
Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.7Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.9Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.10We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.11For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp.
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.12Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.13So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.14For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.15Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.16And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.
But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.19And I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,20Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,
make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.21equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.22But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.23Take notice that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon, I will see you.
Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.24Greet all of your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
Grace be with you all. Amen.25Grace be with you all.
