| 1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, | 1Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel that I preached to you, that you received and on which you stand, |
| 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. | 2and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. |
| 3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, | 3For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received--that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, |

| 30And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? | 30Why too are we in danger every hour? |

| 32If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!” | 32If from a human point of view I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what did it benefit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. |
| 33Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” | 33Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals." |

| 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
