New King James VersionNET Bible
To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.1For the music director, Jeduthun; a psalm of David. For God alone I patiently wait; he is the one who delivers me.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.2He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.
How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.3How long will you threaten a man? All of you are murderers, as dangerous as a leaning wall or an unstable fence.
They only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah4They spend all their time planning how to bring him down. They love to use deceit; they pronounce blessings with their mouths, but inwardly they utter curses. (Selah)
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.5Patiently wait for God alone, my soul! For he is the one who gives me confidence.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.6He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.
In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.7God delivers me and exalts me; God is my strong protector and my shelter.
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah8Trust in him at all times, you people! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our shelter! (Selah)
Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor.9Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.
Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.10Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it!
God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.11God has declared one principle; two principles I have heard: God is strong,
Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.12and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love. For you repay men for what they do.
