Psalm 120
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.1In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.
2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.2Deliver me, O LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?3What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?
4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.4A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree!
5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.5Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.6Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace.
7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!7I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!
