Psalm 120
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.1A Song of Ascents. In my trouble I cried to the LORD, And He answered me.
2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.
3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?3What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, You deceitful tongue?
4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.4Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the burning coals of the broom tree.
5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.5Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.6Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who hate peace.
7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!7I am for peace, but when I speak, They are for war.
