Psalm 120
NLT Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNET Bible
1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.1A song of ascents. In my distress I cried out to the LORD and he answered me.
2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.2I said, "O LORD, rescue me from those who lie with their lips and those who deceive with their tongue.
3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?3How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker?
4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.4Here's how! With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals.
5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.5How miserable I am! For I have lived temporarily in Meshech; I have resided among the tents of Kedar.
6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.6For too long I have had to reside with those who hate peace.
7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!7I am committed to peace, but when I speak, they want to make war.
