Psalm 120
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.1A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.
2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?3What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.6My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!7I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
