Psalm 75
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
1We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds.1We praise you, God! We praise you —your presence draws near— as we declare your wonderful deeds.
2God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked.2"At the time that I choose I will judge the righteous.
3When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude3While the earth and all its inhabitants melt away, it is I who keep its pillars firm." Interlude
4“I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists!4I will say to the proud, "Don't brag," and to the wicked, "Don't vaunt your strength.
5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’”5Don't use your strength to fight heaven or speak from stubborn arrogance."
6For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist.6For exaltation comes not from the east, the west, or the wilderness,
7It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.7since God is the judge. This one he will debase or that one he will exalt.
8For the LORD holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs.8For there is a cup in the hand of the LORD, foaming with well-mixed wine that he will pour out, leaving only the dregs, from which all the wicked of the earth will drink.
9But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9But as for me, I will declare forever, singing praise to the God of Jacob.
10For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.”10I will cut down the strength of the wicked, but the strength of the righteous will be lifted up.
