Psalm 75
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
1We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds.1For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is near; Men declare Your wondrous works.
2God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked.2"When I select an appointed time, It is I who judge with equity.
3When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude3"The earth and all who dwell in it melt; It is I who have firmly set its pillars. Selah.
4“I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists!4"I said to the boastful, 'Do not boast,' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up the horn;
5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’”5Do not lift up your horn on high, Do not speak with insolent pride.'"
6For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist.6For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the desert comes exaltation;
7It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.7But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.
8For the LORD holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs.8For a cup is in the hand of the LORD, and the wine foams; It is well mixed, and He pours out of this; Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its dregs.
9But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.9But as for me, I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.”10And all the horns of the wicked He will cut off, But the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
