Laws for Peace Offerings
(Leviticus 7:11–21)

1  וְאִם־ (And if) זֶ֥בַח (a sacrifice) שְׁלָמִ֖ים (of peace offerings) קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ (is his offering), אִ֤ם (if) מִן־ (from) הַבָּקָר֙ (the herd) ה֣וּא (he) מַקְרִ֔יב (is bringing near), אִם־ (whether) זָכָר֙ (male) אִם־ (or) נְקֵבָ֔ה (female), תָּמִ֥ים (unblemished) יַקְרִיבֶ֖נּוּ (he shall bring it near) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 2  וְסָמַ֤ךְ (And he shall lay) יָדוֹ֙ (his hand) עַל־ (on) רֹ֣אשׁ (the head) קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ (of his offering), וּשְׁחָט֕וֹ (and he shall slaughter it) פֶּ֖תַח (at the door) אֹ֣הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵ֑ד (of Meeting), וְזָרְק֡וּ (and shall sprinkle) בְּנֵי֩ (sons) אַהֲרֹ֨ן (of Aaron), הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים (the priests) אֶת־ (-), הַדָּ֛ם (the blood) עַל־ (on) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (the altar) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

3  וְהִקְרִיב֙ (And he shall bring near) מִזֶּ֣בַח (from the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִ֔ים (of the peace offerings) אִשֶּׁ֖ה (a fire offering) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), אֶת־ (-) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה (that is covering) אֶת־ (-) הַקֶּ֔רֶב (the entrails), וְאֵת֙ (and) כָּל־ (all) הַחֵ֔לֶב (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ (the entrails), 4  וְאֵת֙ (and) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת (the kidneys), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עֲלֵהֶ֔ן (on them) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַכְּסָלִ֑ים (the flanks), וְאֶת־ (and) הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ (the lobe) עַל־ (of) הַכָּבֵ֔ד (the liver) עַל־ (above) הַכְּלָי֖וֹת (the kidneys) יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ (he shall remove). 5  וְהִקְטִ֨ירוּ (And shall burn) אֹת֤וֹ (it) בְנֵֽי־ (sons) אַהֲרֹן֙ (of Aaron) הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה (on the altar) עַל־ (upon) הָ֣עֹלָ֔ה (the burnt offering), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which is) עַל־ (on) הָעֵצִ֖ים (the wood) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הָאֵ֑שׁ (the fire) אִשֵּׁ֛ה (it is a fire offering), רֵ֥יחַ (an aroma) נִיחֹ֖חַ (pleasing) לַֽיהוָֽה׃פ (to YHWH).

6  וְאִם־ (And if) מִן־ (is from) הַצֹּ֧אן (the flock) קָרְבָּנ֛וֹ (his offering) לְזֶ֥בַח (for a sacrifice) שְׁלָמִ֖ים (of peace offerings) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), זָכָר֙ (male) א֣וֹ (or) נְקֵבָ֔ה (female), תָּמִ֖ים (unblemished) יַקְרִיבֶֽנּוּ׃ (he shall bring it near).

7  אִם־ (If) כֶּ֥שֶׂב (a lamb) הֽוּא־ (he) מַקְרִ֖יב (is bringing near) אֶת־ (as) קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ (his offering), וְהִקְרִ֥יב (and he shall offer) אֹת֖וֹ (it) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 8  וְסָמַ֤ךְ (And he shall lay) אֶת־ (-) יָדוֹ֙ (his hand) עַל־ (on) רֹ֣אשׁ (the head) קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ (of his offering), וְשָׁחַ֣ט (and he shall slaughter) אֹת֔וֹ (it) לִפְנֵ֖י (before the face) אֹ֣הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵ֑ד (of Meeting), וְ֠זָרְקוּ (and shall sprinkle) בְּנֵ֨י (sons) אַהֲרֹ֧ן (of Aaron) אֶת־ (-) דָּמ֛וֹ (its blood) עַל־ (on) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (the altar) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

9  וְהִקְרִ֨יב (And he shall bring near) מִזֶּ֣בַח (from the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִים֮ (of the peace offerings) אִשֶּׁ֣ה (a fire offering) לַיהוָה֒ (to YHWH); חֶלְבּוֹ֙ (its fat), הָאַלְיָ֣ה (and the fat tail) תְמִימָ֔ה (entire), לְעֻמַּ֥ת (close to) הֶעָצֶ֖ה (the backbone) יְסִירֶ֑נָּה (he shall remove it), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה (that is covering) אֶת־ (-) הַקֶּ֔רֶב (the entrails), וְאֵת֙ (and) כָּל־ (all) הַחֵ֔לֶב (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ (the entrails), 10  וְאֵת֙ (and) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת (the kidneys), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עֲלֵהֶ֔ן (on them) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַכְּסָלִ֑ים (the flanks), וְאֶת־ (and) הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ (the lobe) עַל־ (of) הַכָּבֵ֔ד (the liver), עַל־ (above) הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת (the kidneys), יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ (he shall remove). 11  וְהִקְטִיר֥וֹ (And shall burn it) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה (on the altar); לֶ֥חֶם (as food) אִשֶּׁ֖ה (a fire offering) לַיהוָֽה׃פ (to YHWH).

12  וְאִ֥ם (And if) עֵ֖ז (is a goat) קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ (his offering), וְהִקְרִיב֖וֹ (then he shall bring it near) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH). 13  וְסָמַ֤ךְ (And He shall lay) אֶת־ (-) יָדוֹ֙ (his hand) עַל־ (on) רֹאשׁ֔וֹ (its head) וְשָׁחַ֣ט (and he shall slaughter) אֹת֔וֹ (it) לִפְנֵ֖י (before the face) אֹ֣הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵ֑ד (of Meeting), וְ֠זָרְקוּ (and shall sprinkle) בְּנֵ֨י (sons) אַהֲרֹ֧ן (of Aaron) אֶת־ (-) דָּמ֛וֹ (its blood) עַל־ (on) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (the altar) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

14  וְהִקְרִ֤יב (And he shall bring near) מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ (from it) קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ (his offering), אִשֶּׁ֖ה (a fire offering) לַֽיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), אֶת־ (-) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה (that is covering) אֶת־ (-) הַקֶּ֔רֶב (the entrails), וְאֵת֙ (and) כָּל־ (all) הַחֵ֔לֶב (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ (the entrails), 15  וְאֵת֙ (and) שְׁתֵּ֣י (the two) הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת (kidneys), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עֲלֵהֶ֔ן (on them) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַכְּסָלִ֑ים (the flanks), וְאֶת־ (and) הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ (the lobe) עַל־ (of) הַכָּבֵ֔ד (the liver) עַל־ (above) הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת (the kidneys) יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ (he shall remove). 16  וְהִקְטִירָ֥ם (And shall burn them) הַכֹּהֵ֖ן (the priest) הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה (on the altar) לֶ֤חֶם (as food), אִשֶּׁה֙ (a fire offering) לְרֵ֣יחַ (for an aroma) נִיחֹ֔חַ (pleasing). כָּל־ (All) חֵ֖לֶב (the fat) לַיהוָֽה׃ (belongs to YHWH).

17  חֻקַּ֤ת (This is a statute) עוֹלָם֙ (everlasting) לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם (throughout your⁺ generations) בְּכֹ֖ל (in all) מֽוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ dwellings): כָּל־ (Any) חֵ֥לֶב (fat) וְכָל־ (and any) דָּ֖ם (blood) לֹ֥א (not) תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃פ (you⁺ shall eat).
