Good News Translation
I told you what the LORD had said, but you paid no attention. You rebelled against him, and in your pride you marched into the hill country.

New Revised Standard Version
Although I told you, you would not listen. You rebelled against the command of the LORD and presumptuously went up into the hill country.

I told you what the LORD had said, but you paid no attention. You disobeyed him and went into the hill country anyway. You thought you were so great!
