ContextThe Word Became Flesh
…16And of his fulness we all have received: and grace for grace. 17For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the Bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.…
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?
And you shall know the truth: and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.
Pilate therefore said to him: Art thou a king then? Jesus answered: Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
That as sin hath reigned to death: so also grace might reign by justice unto life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.
