Now about the collection for the saints: Do the same as I instructed the Galatian churches.1Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also.
On the first day of the week, each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he is prospering, so that no collections will need to be made when I come.2On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.
When I arrive, I will send with letters those you recommend to carry your gift to Jerusalem.3When I arrive, whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;
If it is suitable for me to go as well, they will travel with me.4and if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me.
I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia--for I will be traveling through Macedonia--5But I will come to you after I go through Macedonia, for I am going through Macedonia;
and perhaps I will remain with you or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I go.6and perhaps I will stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I may go.
I don't want to see you now just in passing, since I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.7For I do not wish to see you now just in passing; for I hope to remain with you for some time, if the Lord permits.
But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,8But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost;
because a wide door for effective ministry has opened for me--yet many oppose me.9for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
If Timothy comes, see that he has nothing to fear while with you, because he is doing the Lord's work, just as I am.10Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without cause to be afraid, for he is doing the Lord's work, as I also am.
So let no one look down on him. Send him on his way in peace so that he can come to me, because I am expecting him with the brothers.11So let no one despise him. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.
Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but he was not at all willing to come now. However, he will come when he has an opportunity.12But concerning Apollos our brother, I encouraged him greatly to come to you with the brethren; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.
Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.13Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Do everything in love.14Let all that you do be done in love.
Brothers and sisters, you know the household of Stephanas: They are the firstfruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to serving the saints. I urge you15Now I urge you, brethren (you know the household of Stephanas, that they were the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves for ministry to the saints),
also to submit to such people, and to everyone who works and labors with them.16that you also be in subjection to such men and to everyone who helps in the work and labors.
I am delighted to have Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus present, because these men have made up for your absence.17I rejoice over the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have supplied what was lacking on your part.
For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognize such people.18For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.
The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla send you greetings warmly in the Lord, along with the church that meets in their home.19The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
All the brothers and sisters send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
This greeting is in my own hand--Paul.21The greeting is in my own hand-- Paul.
If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!22If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus.24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
