Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.1Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.2Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.3And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.
If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.4And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.
I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia,5Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.
and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go.6And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.
For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.7For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.
But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,8But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.
for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.9For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am.10Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.
So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.11Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.
Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.12As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.13Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Let all that you do be done in love.14Let all your things be done with charity.
Now I urge you, brothers—you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—15I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer.16That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.
I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence,17I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.
for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.18For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.
The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord.19The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.
I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand.21The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand.
If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!22If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.23The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
