Solomonic. God, give Your justice to the king and Your righteousness to the king's son. 1A Psalm for Solomon. Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
He will judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted ones with justice. 2He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
May the mountains bring prosperity to the people and the hills, righteousness. 3The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor. 4He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
May he continue while the sun endures and as long as the moon, throughout all generations. 5They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth. 6He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
May the righteous flourish in his days and prosperity abound until the moon is no more. 7In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
May he rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth. 8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
May desert tribes kneel before him and his enemies lick the dust. 9They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
May the kings of Tarshish and the coasts and islands bring tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts. 10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Let all kings bow down to him, all nations serve him. 11Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. 12For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor. 13He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight. 14He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
May he live long! May gold from Sheba be given to him. May prayer be offered for him continually, and may he be blessed all day long. 15And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
May there be plenty of grain in the land; may it wave on the tops of the mountains. May its crops be like Lebanon. May people flourish in the cities like the grass of the field. 16There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed. 17His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
May the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders, be praised. 18Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with His glory. Amen and amen. 19And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
The prayers of David son of Jesse are concluded. 20The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
