Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
Solomonic. God, give Your justice to the king and Your righteousness to the king's son. 1Of Solomon. Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
He will judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted ones with justice. 2May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.
May the mountains bring prosperity to the people and the hills, righteousness. 3May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.
May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor. 4May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.
May he continue while the sun endures and as long as the moon, throughout all generations. 5May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.
May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth. 6May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.
May the righteous flourish in his days and prosperity abound until the moon is no more. 7In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
May he rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth. 8May he rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
May desert tribes kneel before him and his enemies lick the dust. 9May the desert tribes bow before him and his enemies lick the dust.
May the kings of Tarshish and the coasts and islands bring tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts. 10May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring tribute to him. May the kings of Sheba and Seba present him gifts.
Let all kings bow down to him, all nations serve him. 11May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him.
For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. 12For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.
He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor. 13He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.
He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight. 14He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
May he live long! May gold from Sheba be given to him. May prayer be offered for him continually, and may he be blessed all day long. 15Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long.
May there be plenty of grain in the land; may it wave on the tops of the mountains. May its crops be like Lebanon. May people flourish in the cities like the grass of the field. 16May grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. May the crops flourish like Lebanon and thrive like the grass of the field.
May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed. 17May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.
May the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders, be praised. 18Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.
May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with His glory. Amen and amen. 19Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.
