1The LORD told Moses, 1The LORD said to Moses,
2"Tell the Israelis to take an offering for me, and you are to accept my offering from every person whose heart moves him to give.2“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.
3This is the offering that you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze; 3And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,
4blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen and goat hair; 4blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair,
5ram skins dyed red, dolphin skins, and acacia wood; 5tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood,
6oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for aromatic incense; 6oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,
7and onyx stones, stones for setting on the ephod and the breast piece.7onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
8Let them make a sanctuary for me so I may live among them. 8And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.
9This is how you are to make it: according to all that I'm showing you, according to the pattern for the tent and the pattern for all its furnishings."9Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.
10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high. 10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.
11You are to overlay it with pure gold—you are to overlay it inside and outside—and you are to make a gold molding around it. 11You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it.
12You are to cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side. 12You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.
13You are to make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 13You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
14You are to put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark with which to carry it.14And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.
15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark and are not to be removed from it. 15The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.
16You are to put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.16And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you.
17"You are to make a Mercy Seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide. 17“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.
18You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered work at the two ends of the Mercy Seat. 18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.
19Place one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. You are to make the cherubim at the two ends of the Mercy Seat, and of one piece with it. 19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends.
20The cherubim are to spread their wings upward, covering the Mercy Seat with their wings and facing each other. The faces of the cherubim is to be turned toward the Mercy Seat. 20The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.
21You are to put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark, and put the Testimony that I'll give you into the ark. 21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.
22I'll meet with you there, and I'll tell you all my commandments for the Israelis from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the Ark of the Testimony."22There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
23"You are to make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high. 23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.
24You are to overlay it with pure gold, and put a gold molding around it. 24You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.
25You are to make a rim one handbreadth in width around it, and you are to make a gold molding around the rim. 25And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.
26You are to make four gold rings for it, and put the rings on the four corners where its four feet are. 26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.
27The rings are to be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table. 27Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table.
28You are to make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold so the table can be carried with them. 28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.
29You are to make its plates, dishes, jars, and bowls from which libations will be poured, and you are to make them of pure gold. 29And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.
30You are to put the bread of the Presence on the table before me continuously."30And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.
31"You are to make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers are to be of one piece with it. 31“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.
32Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lamp stand from one side of it and three branches of the lamp stand from its other side. 32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;
33Three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on one branch and three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on the other branch, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.33three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.
34"On the lamp stand itself there are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with their calyxes and flowers. 34And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,
35A calyx is to be under the two branches that extend out of the stem; a calyx is to be under the next pair of branches that extend out of the stem; and a calyx is to be under the last pair of branches that extend out of the stem, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand. 35and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.
36Their calyxes and their branches are to be of one piece with it; all of it is to be made of one piece of hammered work of pure gold.36Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.
37"You are to make seven lamps for it, and its lamps are to be mounted so as to give light in front of it. 37You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it.
38Its tongs and trays are to be of pure gold. 38Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.
39The lamp stand —together with all its furnishings—is to be made from a talent of pure gold. 39It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold.
40Now see that you make them according to the pattern for them which you are being shown on the mountain."40And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.
