New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
Moreover, from the blue and purple and scarlet material, they made finely woven garments for ministering in the holy place as well as the holy garments which were for Aaron, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.1From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the ephod of gold, and of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen.2They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.
Then they hammered out gold sheets and cut them into threads to be woven in with the blue and the purple and the scarlet material, and the fine linen, the work of a skillful workman.3They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen--the work of skilled hands.
They made attaching shoulder pieces for the ephod; it was attached at its two upper ends.4They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened.
The skillfully woven band which was on it was like its workmanship, of the same material: of gold and of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.5Its skillfully woven waistband was like it--of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the onyx stones, set in gold filigree settings; they were engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel.6They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.
And he placed them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.7Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the breastpiece, the work of a skillful workman, like the workmanship of the ephod: of gold and of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen.8They fashioned the breastpiece--the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.
It was square; they made the breastpiece folded double, a span long and a span wide when folded double.9It was square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double.
And they mounted four rows of stones on it. The first row was a row of ruby, topaz, and emerald;10Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. The first row was carnelian, chrysolite and beryl;
and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond;11the second row was turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald;
and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;12the third row was jacinth, agate and amethyst;
and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were set in gold filigree settings when they were mounted.13the fourth row was topaz, onyx and jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree settings.
The stones were corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel; they were twelve, corresponding to their names, engraved with the engravings of a signet, each with its name for the twelve tribes.14There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
They made on the breastpiece chains like cords, of twisted cordage work in pure gold.15For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.
They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastpiece.16They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece.
Then they put the two gold cords in the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece.17They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,
They put the other two ends of the two cords on the two filigree settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.18and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.
They made two gold rings and placed them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inner edge which was next to the ephod.19They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.
Furthermore, they made two gold rings and placed them on the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on the front of it, close to the place where it joined, above the woven band of the ephod.20Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.
They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it would be on the woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece would not come loose from the ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.21They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod--as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue;22They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth--the work of a weaver--
and the opening of the robe was at the top in the center, as the opening of a coat of mail, with a binding all around its opening, so that it would not be torn.23with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear.
They made pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material and twisted linen on the hem of the robe.24They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen around the hem of the robe.
They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates all around on the hem of the robe,25And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.
alternating a bell and a pomegranate all around on the hem of the robe for the service, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.26The bells and pomegranates alternated around the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the tunics of finely woven linen for Aaron and his sons,27For Aaron and his sons, they made tunics of fine linen--the work of a weaver--
and the turban of fine linen, and the decorated caps of fine linen, and the linen breeches of fine twisted linen,28and the turban of fine linen, the linen caps and the undergarments of finely twisted linen.
and the sash of fine twisted linen, and blue and purple and scarlet material, the work of the weaver, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.29The sash was made of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn--the work of an embroiderer--as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and inscribed it like the engravings of a signet, "Holy to the LORD."30They made the plate, the sacred emblem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: holy to the Lord.
They fastened a blue cord to it, to fasten it on the turban above, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.31Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed; and the sons of Israel did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses; so they did.32So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD commanded Moses.
They brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its furnishings: its clasps, its boards, its bars, and its pillars and its sockets;33Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;
and the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of porpoise skins, and the screening veil;34the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of another durable leather and the shielding curtain;
the ark of the testimony and its poles and the mercy seat;35the ark of the covenant law with its poles and the atonement cover;
the table, all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence;36the table with all its articles and the bread of the Presence;
the pure gold lampstand, with its arrangement of lamps and all its utensils, and the oil for the light;37the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its accessories, and the olive oil for the light;
and the gold altar, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the veil for the doorway of the tent;38the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;
the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils, the laver and its stand;39the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;
the hangings for the court, its pillars and its sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court, its cords and its pegs and all the equipment for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;40the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs for the courtyard; all the furnishings for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;
the woven garments for ministering in the holy place and the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.41and the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when serving as priests.
So the sons of Israel did all the work according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses.42The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And Moses examined all the work and behold, they had done it; just as the LORD had commanded, this they had done. So Moses blessed them.43Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
