Psalm 30
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
A psalm--a song used at the dedication of the temple; by David. I will praise you, O LORD, for you lifted me up, and did not allow my enemies to gloat over me. 1I exalt you, LORD, for you have lifted me up, and my enemies could not gloat over me.
O LORD my God, I cried out to you and you healed me. 2LORD, my God! I cried out to you for help and you healed me.
O LORD, you pulled me up from Sheol; you rescued me from among those descending into the grave. 3LORD, you brought me from death; you kept me alive so that I did not descend into the Pit.
Sing to the LORD, you faithful followers of his; give thanks to his holy name. 4You, his godly ones, sing to the LORD, give thanks at the mention of his holiness.
For his anger lasts only a brief moment, and his good favor restores one's life. One may experience sorrow during the night, but joy arrives in the morning. 5For his wrath is only momentary; yet his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may lodge for the night, but shouts of joy will come in the morning.
In my self-confidence I said, "I will never be upended." 6As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will never be moved."
O LORD, in your good favor you made me secure. Then you rejected me and I was terrified. 7By your favor, LORD, you established me as a strong mountain; Then you hid your face, and I was dismayed.
To you, O LORD, I cried out; I begged the Lord for mercy: 8I cried out to you, LORD, and I make supplication to the Lord:
"What profit is there in taking my life, in my descending into the Pit? Can the dust of the grave praise you? Can it declare your loyalty? 9"What profit is there in my death if I go down to the Pit? Can dust worship you? Can it proclaim your faithfulness?"
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me! O LORD, deliver me!" 10Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me! LORD, help me!
Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy. 11You have turned my mourning into dancing; you took off my sackcloth and clothed me with a garment of joy,
So now my heart will sing to you and not be silent; O LORD my God, I will always give thanks to you. 12so that I may sing praise to you and not remain silent. LORD, my God, I will give you thanks forever!
