Psalm 30
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
A psalm--a song used at the dedication of the temple; by David. I will praise you, O LORD, for you lifted me up, and did not allow my enemies to gloat over me. 1I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.
O LORD my God, I cried out to you and you healed me. 2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.
O LORD, you pulled me up from Sheol; you rescued me from among those descending into the grave. 3You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.
Sing to the LORD, you faithful followers of his; give thanks to his holy name. 4Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a brief moment, and his good favor restores one's life. One may experience sorrow during the night, but joy arrives in the morning. 5For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
In my self-confidence I said, "I will never be upended." 6When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”
O LORD, in your good favor you made me secure. Then you rejected me and I was terrified. 7Your favor, O LORD, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.
To you, O LORD, I cried out; I begged the Lord for mercy: 8I cried out to you, O LORD. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,
"What profit is there in taking my life, in my descending into the Pit? Can the dust of the grave praise you? Can it declare your loyalty? 9“What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me! O LORD, deliver me!" 10Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me. Help me, O LORD.”
Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy. 11You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
So now my heart will sing to you and not be silent; O LORD my God, I will always give thanks to you. 12that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!
