New International VersionBerean Study Bible
A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.1A prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;2Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.
have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long.
Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.4Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.5For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.
Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.6Hear my prayer, O LORD, and attend to my plea for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.7In the day of my distress I call on You, because You answer me.
Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.8O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours.
All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.9All the nations You have made will come and bow before You, O Lord, and they will glorify Your name.
For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.10For You are great and perform wonders; You alone are God.
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.11Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.12I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.
For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.13For great is Your loving devotion to me; You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol.
Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me-- they have no regard for you.14The arrogant rise against me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, with no regard for You.
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.15But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.16Turn to me and have mercy; grant Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your maidservant.
Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.17Show me a sign of Your goodness, that my enemies may see and be ashamed; for You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
