New International VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
For the director of music. To the tune of "The Death of the Son." A psalm of David. I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.1For the choir director: according to Muth-labben. A Davidic psalm. I will thank Yahweh with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works.
I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.2I will rejoice and boast about You; I will sing about Your name, Most High.
My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.3When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You.
For you have upheld my right and my cause, sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.4For You have upheld my just cause; You are seated on Your throne as a righteous judge.
You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.5You have rebuked the nations: You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever.
Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished.6The enemy has come to eternal ruin; You have uprooted the cities, and the very memory of them has perished.
The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.7But the LORD sits enthroned forever; He has established His throne for judgment.
He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity.8He judges the world with righteousness; He executes judgment on the nations with fairness.
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.9The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.10Those who know Your name trust in You because You have not abandoned those who seek You, Yahweh.
Sing the praises of the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.11Sing to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the nations.
For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.12For the One who seeks an accounting for bloodshed remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,13Be gracious to me, LORD; consider my affliction at the hands of those who hate me. Lift me up from the gates of death,
that I may declare your praises in the gates of Daughter Zion, and there rejoice in your salvation.14so that I may declare all Your praises. I will rejoice in Your salvation within the gates of Daughter Zion.
The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.15The nations have fallen into the pit they made; their foot is caught in the net they have concealed.
The LORD is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.16The LORD has revealed Himself; He has executed justice, striking down the wicked by the work of their hands. Higgaion. Selah
The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God.17The wicked will return to Sheol-- all the nations that forget God.
But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.18For the oppressed will not always be forgotten; the hope of the afflicted will not perish forever.
Arise, LORD, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence.19Rise up, LORD! Do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your presence.
Strike them with terror, LORD; let the nations know they are only mortal.20Put terror in them, LORD; let the nations know they are only men. Selah
