1The LORD said to Moses,1The LORD told Moses,
2"Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.2"Tell the Israelis to take an offering for me, and you are to accept my offering from every person whose heart moves him to give.
3These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze;3This is the offering that you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze;
4blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;4blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen and goat hair;
5ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood;5ram skins dyed red, dolphin skins, and acacia wood;
6olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;6oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for aromatic incense;
7and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.7and onyx stones, stones for setting on the ephod and the breast piece.
8"Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.8Let them make a sanctuary for me so I may live among them.
9Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.9This is how you are to make it: according to all that I'm showing you, according to the pattern for the tent and the pattern for all its furnishings."
10"Have them make an ark of acacia wood--two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.
11Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.11You are to overlay it with pure gold—you are to overlay it inside and outside—and you are to make a gold molding around it.
12Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other.12You are to cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side.
13Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.13You are to make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
14Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.14You are to put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark with which to carry it.
15The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed.15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark and are not to be removed from it.
16Then put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law, which I will give you.16You are to put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.
17"Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.17"You are to make a Mercy Seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.
18And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.18You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered work at the two ends of the Mercy Seat.
19Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends.19Place one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. You are to make the cherubim at the two ends of the Mercy Seat, and of one piece with it.
20The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover.20The cherubim are to spread their wings upward, covering the Mercy Seat with their wings and facing each other. The faces of the cherubim is to be turned toward the Mercy Seat.
21Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.21You are to put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark, and put the Testimony that I'll give you into the ark.
22There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.22I'll meet with you there, and I'll tell you all my commandments for the Israelis from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the Ark of the Testimony."
23"Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high.23"You are to make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high.
24Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it.24You are to overlay it with pure gold, and put a gold molding around it.
25Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim.25You are to make a rim one handbreadth in width around it, and you are to make a gold molding around the rim.
26Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.26You are to make four gold rings for it, and put the rings on the four corners where its four feet are.
27The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.27The rings are to be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table.
28Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them.28You are to make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold so the table can be carried with them.
29And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.29You are to make its plates, dishes, jars, and bowls from which libations will be poured, and you are to make them of pure gold.
30Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.30You are to put the bread of the Presence on the table before me continuously."
31"Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.31"You are to make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers are to be of one piece with it.
32Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand--three on one side and three on the other.32Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lamp stand from one side of it and three branches of the lamp stand from its other side.
33Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.33Three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on one branch and three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on the other branch, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.
34And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.34"On the lamp stand itself there are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with their calyxes and flowers.
35One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair--six branches in all.35A calyx is to be under the two branches that extend out of the stem; a calyx is to be under the next pair of branches that extend out of the stem; and a calyx is to be under the last pair of branches that extend out of the stem, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.
36The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.36Their calyxes and their branches are to be of one piece with it; all of it is to be made of one piece of hammered work of pure gold.
37"Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.37"You are to make seven lamps for it, and its lamps are to be mounted so as to give light in front of it.
38Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.38Its tongs and trays are to be of pure gold.
39A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.39The lamp stand —together with all its furnishings—is to be made from a talent of pure gold.
40See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.40Now see that you make them according to the pattern for them which you are being shown on the mountain."
