| 1For the director of music. For Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm. I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. | 1For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me. |
| 2When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. | 2In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted. |
| 3I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. | 3When I remember God, then I am disturbed; When I sigh, then my spirit grows faint. Selah. |
| 4You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. | 4You have held my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. |

| 10Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. | 10Then I said, "It is my grief, That the right hand of the Most High has changed." |
