1A psalm of praise. Of David. I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

1I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever.

2Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

2I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever.

3Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

3Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.

4One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.

4Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.

5They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty-- and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

5I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.

6They tell of the power of your awesome works-- and I will proclaim your great deeds.

6Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness.

7They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

7Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.

8The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

9The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
