“And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the LORD has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the LORD has commanded.”1Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled people are to work based on everything the LORD has commanded. The LORD has given them wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary."
Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work.2So Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the LORD had placed wisdom, all whose hearts moved them, to come to the work and do it.
And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.3They took from Moses's presence all the contributions that the Israelites had brought for the task of making the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.
Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he was doing,4Then all the artisans who were doing all the work for the sanctuary came one by one from the work they were doing
and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded us to do.”5and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than is needed for the construction of the work the LORD commanded to be done."
So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,6After Moses gave an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: "Let no man or woman make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary." So the people stopped.
for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done—indeed too much.7The materials were sufficient for them to do all the work. There was more than enough.
Then all the gifted artisans among them who worked on the tabernacle made ten curtains woven of fine linen, and of blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim they made them.8All the skilled artisans among those doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains. Bezalel made them of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim worked into them.
The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the curtains were all the same size.9Each curtain was forty-two feet long and six feet wide; all the curtains had the same measurements.
And he coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another.10He joined five of the curtains to each other, and the other five curtains he joined to each other.
He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the curtain on the selvedge of one set; likewise he did on the outer edge of the other curtain of the second set.11He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the last curtain in the first set and did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
Fifty loops he made on one curtain, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain on the end of the second set; the loops held one curtain to another.12He made fifty loops on the one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, so that the loops lined up with each other.
And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps, that it might be one tabernacle.13He also made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains to each other, so that the tabernacle became a single unit.
He made curtains of goats’ hair for the tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains.14He made curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven of them.
The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains were the same size.15Each curtain was forty-five feet long and six feet wide. All eleven curtains had the same measurements.
He coupled five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.16He joined five of the curtains together, and the other six together.
And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain of the second set.17He made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set and fifty loops on the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
He also made fifty bronze clasps to couple the tent together, that it might be one.18He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a single unit.
Then he made a covering for the tent of ram skins dyed red, and a covering of badger skins above that.19He also made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of fine leather on top of it.
For the tabernacle he made boards of acacia wood, standing upright.20He made upright supports of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
The length of each board was ten cubits, and the width of each board a cubit and a half.21Each support was fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide.
Each board had two tenons for binding one to another. Thus he made for all the boards of the tabernacle.22Each support had two tenons for joining one to another. He did the same for all the supports of the tabernacle.
And he made boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side.23He made supports for the tabernacle as follows: twenty for the south side,
Forty sockets of silver he made to go under the twenty boards: two sockets under each of the boards for its two tenons.24and he made forty silver bases to put under the twenty supports, two bases under the first support for its two tenons, and two bases under each of the following supports for their two tenons;
And for the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty boards25for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty supports,
and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under each of the boards.26with their forty silver bases, two bases under the first support and two bases under each of the following ones;
For the west side of the tabernacle he made six boards.27and for the back of the tabernacle, on the west side, he made six supports.
He also made two boards for the two back corners of the tabernacle.28He also made two additional supports for the two back corners of the tabernacle.
And they were coupled at the bottom and coupled together at the top by one ring. Thus he made both of them for the two corners.29They were paired at the bottom and joined together at the top in a single ring. This is what he did with both of them for the two corners.
So there were eight boards and their sockets—sixteen sockets of silver—two sockets under each of the boards.30So there were eight supports with their sixteen silver bases, two bases under each one.
And he made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,31He made five crossbars of acacia wood for the supports on one side of the tabernacle,
five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle on the far side westward.32five crossbars for the supports on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for those at the back of the tabernacle on the west.
And he made the middle bar to pass through the boards from one end to the other.33He made the central crossbar run through the middle of the supports from one end to the other.
He overlaid the boards with gold, made their rings of gold to be holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.34He overlaid them with gold and made their rings out of gold as holders for the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
And he made a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen; it was worked with an artistic design of cherubim.35Then he made the curtain with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. He made it with a design of cherubim worked into it.
He made for it four pillars of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four sockets of silver for them.36He made four pillars of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold. And he cast four silver bases for the pillars.
He also made a screen for the tabernacle door, of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, made by a weaver,37He made a screen embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen for the entrance to the tent,
and its five pillars with their hooks. And he overlaid their capitals and their rings with gold, but their five sockets were bronze.38together with its five pillars and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the pillars and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze.
