“And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the LORD has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the LORD has commanded.”1Bezalel and Oholiab and all the skilled craftsmen to whom the LORD gave wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work in constructing the sanctuary are to do everything that the LORD has commanded."
Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work.2Then Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled people to whom the LORD had given ability, including everyone whose hearts stirred them to come forward to do the work.
And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.3They received from Moses all the offerings that the Israelis had brought for doing the work of constructing the sanctuary, and the people continued to bring freewill offerings every morning.
Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he was doing,4All the craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left the work they were doing
and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded us to do.”5and told Moses, "The people are bringing much more than enough for the work that the LORD has commanded us to do."
So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,6Then Moses issued an order, and the message was taken throughout the camp, "Men and women, don't bring any more offerings for the sanctuary." The people were restrained from bringing any more,
for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done—indeed too much.7since the material was more than sufficient for doing all the work.
Then all the gifted artisans among them who worked on the tabernacle made ten curtains woven of fine linen, and of blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim they made them.8All the skilled craftsmen among the workers made the tent with ten curtains of fine woven linen, blue, purple, and scarlet material. He made them with cherubim skillfully worked into them.
The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the curtains were all the same size.9The length of each curtain was 28 cubits, and the width of each curtain two cubits. All the curtains had the same measurements.
And he coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another.10He joined five of the curtains together, and the other five curtains he joined together.
He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the curtain on the selvedge of one set; likewise he did on the outer edge of the other curtain of the second set.11He made loops of blue material along the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and likewise, he made loops along the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
Fifty loops he made on one curtain, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain on the end of the second set; the loops held one curtain to another.12He made 50 loops in the one curtain, and he made 50 loops along the edge of the curtain that is in the second set, with the loops opposite each other.
And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps, that it might be one tabernacle.13Then he made 50 gold clasps, and joined the curtains to each other with the clasps so the tent was one piece.
He made curtains of goats’ hair for the tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains.14He made curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tent; he made 11 curtains.
The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains were the same size.15The length of each curtain was 30 cubits, and the width of each curtain was two cubits; the measurements of each of the eleven curtains was the same.
He coupled five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.16He joined five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain of the second set.17He made 50 loops along the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and 50 loops along the edge of the curtain of the other set.
He also made fifty bronze clasps to couple the tent together, that it might be one.18He made 50 bronze clasps to join the tent together so it would be one piece.
Then he made a covering for the tent of ram skins dyed red, and a covering of badger skins above that.19Then he made a cover for the tent of ram skins dyed red and a covering of dolphin skins above that.
For the tabernacle he made boards of acacia wood, standing upright.20Then he made upright boards of acacia wood for the tent.
The length of each board was ten cubits, and the width of each board a cubit and a half.21Each board was ten cubits long, and one and a half cubits wide.
Each board had two tenons for binding one to another. Thus he made for all the boards of the tabernacle.22Each board had two pegs, joined to one another, and he did this for all the boards of the tent.
And he made boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side.23He made the boards for the tent: 20 boards for the south side.
Forty sockets of silver he made to go under the twenty boards: two sockets under each of the boards for its two tenons.24He made 40 silver sockets under the 20 boards: two sockets under one board for its two pegs and two sockets under the next board for its two pegs.
And for the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty boards25For the second side of the tent to the north he made 20 boards,
and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under each of the boards.26and 40 silver sockets for them, two sockets under one board and two sockets under the next board.
For the west side of the tabernacle he made six boards.27For the rear of the tent on the west he made six boards,
He also made two boards for the two back corners of the tabernacle.28and he made two boards for the rear corners of the tent.
And they were coupled at the bottom and coupled together at the top by one ring. Thus he made both of them for the two corners.29They were joined together at the bottom and they were connected on top, by one ring. He did this for the two of them, and they were the two corners.
So there were eight boards and their sockets—sixteen sockets of silver—two sockets under each of the boards.30There were eight boards with their sixteen silver sockets, two sockets under each board.
And he made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,31Then he made bars of acacia wood, five for the boards on one side of the tent,
five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle on the far side westward.32five bars for the boards on the second side of the tent, and five bars for the boards on the back side of the tent to the west.
And he made the middle bar to pass through the boards from one end to the other.33He made the middle bar in the center of the boards pass through from end to end.
He overlaid the boards with gold, made their rings of gold to be holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.34He overlaid the boards with gold, and made gold rings for them as holders for the bars, and he overlaid the bars with gold.
And he made a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen; it was worked with an artistic design of cherubim.35He made a curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet material, and fine woven linen. He made it with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
He made for it four pillars of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four sockets of silver for them.36He made four pillars of acacia for it and overlaid them with gold, along with their gold hooks, and he cast four silver sockets for them.
He also made a screen for the tabernacle door, of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, made by a weaver,37For the doorway of the tent, he made a screen of blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine woven linen, the work of an embroiderer,
and its five pillars with their hooks. And he overlaid their capitals and their rings with gold, but their five sockets were bronze.38and five pillars of acacia along with their hooks. He overlaid their tops and their bands with gold. Their five sockets were made of bronze.
