And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps.2“Make two silver trumpets. Of hammered work you shall make them, and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for breaking camp.
When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.3And when both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you.4But if they blow only one, then the chiefs, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you.
When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey.5When you blow an alarm, the camps that are on the east side shall set out.
When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys.6And when you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out.
And when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but not sound the advance.7But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow a long blast, but you shall not sound an alarm.
The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations.8And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. The trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations.
“When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.9And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.
Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the LORD your God.”10On the day of your gladness also, and at your appointed feasts and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. They shall be a reminder of you before your God: I am the LORD your God.”
Now it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle of the Testimony.11In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony,

Now Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”29And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do good to you, for the LORD has promised good to Israel.”
And he said to him, “I will not go, but I will depart to my own land and to my relatives.”30But he said to him, “I will not go. I will depart to my own land and to my kindred.”
So Moses said, “Please do not leave, inasmuch as you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.31And he said, “Please do not leave us, for you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will serve as eyes for us.
And it shall be, if you go with us—indeed it shall be—that whatever good the LORD will do to us, the same we will do to you.”32And if you do go with us, whatever good the LORD will do to us, the same will we do to you.”

So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You.”35And whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Arise, O LORD, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee before you.”
And when it rested, he said: “Return, O LORD, To the many thousands of Israel.”36And when it rested, he said, “Return, O LORD, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.”
