Psalm 16
NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
1A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.1A Mikhtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in You.
2O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”2I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good besides You."
3As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”3As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.
4Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.4The sorrows of those who have bartered for another god will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of blood, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.
5O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.5The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.
6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
7I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.7I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
8I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.8I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.9Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.
10For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.10For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
11You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.11You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
