Psalm 16
NKJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew International Version
1A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.1A miktam of David. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.
2O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”2I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
3As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”3I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight."
4Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.4Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.
5O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.5LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.
6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.7I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
8I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.8I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.9Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,
10For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.10because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.11You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
