Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also:1Now about the collection for the Lord's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do.
On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.2On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem.3Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem.
But if it is fitting that I go also, they will go with me.4If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me.
Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia).5After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you--for I will be going through Macedonia.
And it may be that I will remain, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go.6Perhaps I will stay with you for a while, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go.
For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.7For I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.8But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost,
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.9because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.
And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.10When Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am.
Therefore let no one despise him. But send him on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brethren.11No one, then, should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him along with the brothers.
Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brethren, but he was quite unwilling to come at this time; however, he will come when he has a convenient time.12Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity.
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.13Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Let all that you do be done with love.14Do everything in love.
I urge you, brethren—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints—15You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the Lord's people. I urge you, brothers and sisters,
that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labors with us.16to submit to such people and to everyone who joins in the work and labors at it.
I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, for what was lacking on your part they supplied.17I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you.
For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.18For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition.
The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.19The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.
All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brothers and sisters here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
The salutation with my own hand—Paul’s.21I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.
If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!22If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.24My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
