New Living TranslationBerean Study Bible
On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the LORD.1A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A song. He has founded His city on the holy mountains.
He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel.2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude3Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. Selah
I will count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me— also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia. They have all become citizens of Jerusalem!4“I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me—along with Philistia, Tyre, and Cush—when I say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’ ”
Regarding Jerusalem it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city.5And it will be said of Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself will establish her.”
When the LORD registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” Interlude6The LORD will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.” Selah
The people will play flutes and sing, “The source of my life springs from Jerusalem!”7Singers and pipers will proclaim, “All my springs of joy are in You.”
