Psalm 87
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
1On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the LORD.1God's foundation is in the holy mountains.
2He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel.2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than the dwellings of Jacob.
3O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude3Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Interlude
4I will count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me— also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia. They have all become citizens of Jerusalem!4I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— including Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia — "This one was born there," they say.
5Regarding Jerusalem it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city.5Indeed, about Zion it will be said: "More than one person was born in it," and "The Most High himself did it."
6When the LORD registers the nations, he will say, “They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.” Interlude6The LORD will record, as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Interlude
7The people will play flutes and sing, “The source of my life springs from Jerusalem!”7Then singers, as they play their instruments, will declare, "All my roots are in you."
