Psalm 77
NLT Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationChristian Standard Bible
I cry out to God; yes, I shout. Oh, that God would listen to me!1I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and he will hear me.
When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.2I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted.
I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help. Interlude3I think of God; I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Selah
You don’t let me sleep. I am too distressed even to pray!4You have kept me from closing my eyes; I am troubled and cannot speak.
I think of the good old days, long since ended,5I consider days of old, years long past.
when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.6At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.
Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me?7"Will the Lord reject forever and never again show favor?
Is his unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed?8Has his faithful love ceased forever? Is his promise at an end for all generations?
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion? Interlude9Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" Selah
And I said, “This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.”10So I say, "I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed."
But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.11I will remember the LORD's works; yes, I will remember your ancient wonders.
They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.12I will reflect on all you have done and meditate on your actions.
O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you?13God, your way is holy. What god is great like God?
You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.14You are the God who works wonders; you revealed your strength among the peoples.
By your strong arm, you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Interlude15With power you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
When the Red Sea saw you, O God, its waters looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths.16The water saw you, God. The water saw you; it trembled. Even the depths shook.
The clouds poured down rain; the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed.17The clouds poured down water. The storm clouds thundered; your arrows flashed back and forth.
Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook.18The sound of your thunder was in the whirlwind; lightning lit up the world. The earth shook and quaked.
Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!19Your way went through the sea and your path through the vast water, but your footprints were unseen.
You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.20You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
