Psalm 86
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help.1Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God.2Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly.3Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day.
Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.4Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.5For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry.6Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me.7In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.
No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do!8There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name.9All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.
For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.10For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.11Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,12I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.13For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them.14O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them.
But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.15But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant.16Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant.
Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me.17Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
