Psalm 30
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.1A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David. I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my enemies rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.2O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.3O LORD, You have brought up my soul from Sheol; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit.
Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name.4Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.5For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”6Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will never be moved."
Your favor, O LORD, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.7O LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, I was dismayed.
I cried out to you, O LORD. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,8To You, O LORD, I called, And to the Lord I made supplication:
“What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?9"What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?
Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me. Help me, O LORD.”10"Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; O LORD, be my helper."
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!12That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
