Listen to me, distant nations, you people who live far away! Before I was born, the LORD chose me and appointed me to be his servant.

Give ear, ye islands, and hearken, ye people from afar. The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother he hath been mindful of my name.
Isaiah 41:1 Let the islands keep silence before me, and the nations take new strength: let them come near, and then speak, let us come near to judgment together.

1Give ear, ye islands, and hearken, ye people from afar. The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother he hath been mindful of my name.2And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword: in the shadow of his hand he hath protected me, and hath made me as a chosen arrow: in his quiver he hath hidden me.…
But when it pleased him who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace,
I was cast upon thee from the womb. From my mother's womb thou art my God,
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand the second time to possess the remnant of his people, which shall be left from the Assyrians, and from Egypt, and from Phetros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Sennaar, and from Emath, and from the islands of the sea.
Therefore glorify ye the Lord in instruction: the name of the Lord God of Israel in the islands of the sea.
Hear, you that are far off, what I have done, and you that are near know my strength.
He shall not be sad, nor troublesome, till he set judgment in the earth, and the islands shall wait for his law.
Thus saith the Lord that made and formed thee, thy helper from the womb: Fear not, O my servant Jacob, and thou most righteous whom I have chosen.
Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, and thy maker, from the womb: I am the Lord, that make all things, that alone stretch out the heavens, that established the earth, and there is none with me.
And I will give thee hidden treasures, and the concealed riches of secret places: that thou mayest know that I am the Lord who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel.
They are consumed, and are broken together: they could not save him that carried them, and they themselves shall go into captivity.
Behold these shall come from afar, and behold these from the north and from the sea, and these from the south country.
Behold my servant shall understand, he shall be exalted, and extolled, and shall be exceeding high.
For, the islands wait for me, and the ships of the sea in the beginning: that I may bring thy sons from afar: their silver, and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and made thee a prophet unto the nations.
