Psalm 91
ESV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionChristian Standard Bible
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.1The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”2I will say concerning the LORD, who is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust:
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.3He himself will rescue you from the bird trap, from the destructive plague.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,5You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.6the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.7Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you.
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.8You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—9Because you have made the LORD--my refuge, the Most High--your dwelling place,
no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.10no harm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.11For he will give his angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.12They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.13You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the young lion and the serpent.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.14Because he has his heart set on me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.15When he calls out to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”16I will satisfy him with a long life and show him my salvation.
