Psalm 91
ESV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNET Bible
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.1As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One, and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king--
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”2I say this about the LORD, my shelter and my stronghold, my God in whom I trust--
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.3he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the destructive plague.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.4He will shelter you with his wings; you will find safety under his wings. His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,5You need not fear the terrors of the night, the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.6the plague that comes in the darkness, or the disease that comes at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.7Though a thousand may fall beside you, and a multitude on your right side, it will not reach you.
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.8Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes--you will see the wicked paid back.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—9For you have taken refuge in the LORD, my shelter, the sovereign One.
no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.10No harm will overtake you; no illness will come near your home.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.11For he will order his angels to protect you in all you do.
On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.12They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.13You will subdue a lion and a snake; you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.14The LORD says, "Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to me.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.15When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”16I will satisfy him with long life, and will let him see my salvation.
