Psalm 91
ESV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew Living Translation
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.1Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”2This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.3For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,5Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.6Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.7Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.8Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—9If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.10no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.11For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.12They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.13You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.14The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.15When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”16I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
