Psalm 91
ESV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew International Version
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.1Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”2I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.3Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,5You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.8You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—9If you say, "The LORD is my refuge," and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.10no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.12they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.13You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.14"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.15He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”16With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
