1For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. Happy is one who cares for the poor; the LORD will save him in a day of adversity. 1לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ אַ֭שְׁרֵי מַשְׂכִּ֣יל אֶל־ דָּ֑ל בְּי֥וֹם רָ֝עָ֗ה יְֽמַלְּטֵ֥הוּ יְהוָֽה׃
2The LORD will keep him and preserve him; he will be blessed in the land. You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies. 2יְהוָ֤ה ׀ יִשְׁמְרֵ֣הוּ וִֽ֭יחַיֵּהוּ יאשר [וְאֻשַּׁ֣ר] (בָּאָ֑רֶץ) וְאַֽל־ תִּ֝תְּנֵ֗הוּ בְּנֶ֣פֶשׁ אֹיְבָֽיו׃
3The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed; You will heal him on the bed where he lies. 3יְֽהוָ֗ה יִ֭סְעָדֶנּוּ עַל־ עֶ֣רֶשׂ דְּוָ֑י כָּל־ מִ֝שְׁכָּב֗וֹ הָפַ֥כְתָּ בְחָלְיֽוֹ׃
4I said, " LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You." 4אֲ‍ֽנִי־ אָ֭מַרְתִּי יְהוָ֣ה חָנֵּ֑נִי רְפָאָ֥ה נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י כִּי־ חָטָ֥אתִי לָֽךְ׃
5My enemies speak maliciously about me:" When will he die and be forgotten?" 5אוֹיְבַ֗י יֹאמְר֣וּ רַ֣ע לִ֑י מָתַ֥י יָ֝מ֗וּת וְאָבַ֥ד שְׁמֽוֹ׃
6When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully; he stores up evil in his heart; he goes out and talks. 6וְאִם־ בָּ֤א לִרְא֨וֹת ׀ שָׁ֤וְא יְדַבֵּ֗ר לִבּ֗וֹ יִקְבָּץ־ אָ֥וֶן ל֑וֹ יֵצֵ֖א לַח֣וּץ יְדַבֵּֽר׃
7All who hate me whisper together about me; they plan to harm me." 7יַ֗חַד עָלַ֣י יִ֭תְלַחֲשׁוּ כָּל־ שֹׂנְאָ֑י עָלַ֓י ׀ יַחְשְׁב֖וּ רָעָ֣ה לִֽי׃
8Lethal poison has been poured into him, and he won't rise again from where he lies!" 8דְּֽבַר־ בְּ֭לִיַּעַל יָצ֣וּק בּ֑וֹ וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁ֝כַ֗ב לֹא־ יוֹסִ֥יף לָקֽוּם׃
9Even my friend in whom I trusted, one who ate my bread, has raised his heel against me. 9גַּם־ אִ֤ישׁ שְׁלוֹמִ֨י ׀ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּטַ֣חְתִּי ב֭וֹ אוֹכֵ֣ל לַחְמִ֑י הִגְדִּ֖יל עָלַ֣י עָקֵֽב׃
10But You, LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up; then I will repay them. 10וְאַתָּ֤ה יְהוָ֗ה חָנֵּ֥נִי וַהֲקִימֵ֑נִי וַֽאֲשַׁלְּמָ֥ה לָהֶֽם׃
11By this I know that You delight in me: my enemy does not shout in triumph over me. 11בְּזֹ֣את יָ֭דַעְתִּי כִּֽי־ חָפַ֣צְתָּ בִּ֑י כִּ֤י לֹֽא־ יָרִ֖יעַ אֹיְבִ֣י עָלָֽי׃
12You supported me because of my integrity and set me in Your presence forever. 12וַאֲנִ֗י בְּ֭תֻמִּי תָּמַ֣כְתָּ בִּ֑י וַתַּצִּיבֵ֖נִי לְפָנֶ֣יךָ לְעוֹלָֽם׃
13May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen. 13בָּ֘ר֤וּךְ יְהוָ֨ה ׀ אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מֵֽ֭הָעוֹלָם וְעַ֥ד הָעוֹלָ֗ם אָ֘מֵ֥ן ׀ וְאָמֵֽן׃
