Psalm 77
HCSB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm. I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and He will hear me. 1For the director of music. For Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm. I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me.
I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted. 2When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted.
I think of God; I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Selah 3I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.
You have kept me from closing my eyes; I am troubled and cannot speak. 4You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak.
I consider days of old, years long past. 5I thought about the former days, the years of long ago;
At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders." 6I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:
Will the Lord reject forever and never again show favor? 7"Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again?
Has His faithful love ceased forever? Is His promise at an end for all generations? 8Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time?
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger withheld His compassion?" Selah 9Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?"
So I say, "I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed." 10Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.
I will remember the LORD's works; yes, I will remember Your ancient wonders. 11I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will reflect on all You have done and meditate on Your actions. 12I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds."
God, Your way is holy. What god is great like God? 13Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God?
You are the God who works wonders; You revealed Your strength among the peoples. 14You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
With power You redeemed Your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah 15With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.
The waters saw You, God. The waters saw You; they trembled. Even the depths shook. 16The waters saw you, God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed.
The clouds poured down water. The storm clouds thundered; Your arrows flashed back and forth. 17The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth.
The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; lightning lit up the world. The earth shook and quaked. 18Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
Your way went through the sea and Your path through the great waters, but Your footprints were unseen. 19Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.
You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. 20You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
