Hebrews 6
NASB Parallel GRK [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]

Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,1Διὸ ἀφέντες τὸν τῆς ἀρχῆς τοῦ Χριστοῦ λόγον ἐπὶ τὴν τελειότητα φερώμεθα μὴ πάλιν θεμέλιον καταβαλλόμενοι μετανοίας ἀπὸ νεκρῶν ἔργων καὶ πίστεως ἐπὶ Θεόν
of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.2βαπτισμῶν διδαχὴν ἐπιθέσεώς τε χειρῶν ἀναστάσεώς ‹τε› νεκρῶν καὶ κρίματος αἰωνίου
And this we will do, if God permits.3καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσομεν ἐάνπερ ἐπιτρέπῃ Θεός
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,4Ἀδύνατον γὰρ τοὺς ἅπαξ φωτισθέντας γευσαμένους τε τῆς δωρεᾶς τῆς ἐπουρανίου καὶ μετόχους γενηθέντας Πνεύματος Ἁγίου
and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,5καὶ καλὸν γευσαμένους Θεοῦ ῥῆμα δυνάμεις τε μέλλοντος αἰῶνος
and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.6καὶ παραπεσόντας πάλιν ἀνακαινίζειν εἰς μετάνοιαν ἀνασταυροῦντας ἑαυτοῖς τὸν Υἱὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ παραδειγματίζοντας
For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;7Γῆ γὰρ πιοῦσα τὸν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἐρχόμενον πολλάκις ὑετόν καὶ τίκτουσα βοτάνην εὔθετον ἐκείνοις δι’ οὓς καὶ γεωργεῖται μεταλαμβάνει εὐλογίας ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ
but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.8ἐκφέρουσα δὲ ἀκάνθας καὶ τριβόλους ἀδόκιμος καὶ κατάρας ἐγγύς ἧς τὸ τέλος εἰς καῦσιν
But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way.9Πεπείσμεθα δὲ περὶ ὑμῶν ἀγαπητοί τὰ κρείσσονα καὶ ἐχόμενα σωτηρίας εἰ καὶ οὕτως λαλοῦμεν
For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.10οὐ γὰρ ἄδικος Θεὸς ἐπιλαθέσθαι τοῦ ἔργου ὑμῶν καὶ τῆς ἀγάπης ἧς ἐνεδείξασθε εἰς τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ διακονήσαντες τοῖς ἁγίοις καὶ διακονοῦντες
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,11Ἐπιθυμοῦμεν δὲ ἕκαστον ὑμῶν τὴν αὐτὴν ἐνδείκνυσθαι σπουδὴν πρὸς τὴν πληροφορίαν τῆς ἐλπίδος ἄχρι τέλους
so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.12ἵνα μὴ νωθροὶ γένησθε μιμηταὶ δὲ τῶν διὰ πίστεως καὶ μακροθυμίας κληρονομούντων τὰς ἐπαγγελίας
For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,13Τῷ γὰρ Ἀβραὰμ ἐπαγγειλάμενος Θεός ἐπεὶ κατ’ οὐδενὸς εἶχεν μείζονος ὀμόσαι ὤμοσεν καθ’ ἑαυτοῦ
saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU."14λέγων Εἰ μὴν εὐλογῶν εὐλογήσω σε καὶ πληθύνων πληθυνῶ σε
And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.15καὶ οὕτως μακροθυμήσας ἐπέτυχεν τῆς ἐπαγγελίας
For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute.16Ἄνθρωποι γὰρ κατὰ τοῦ μείζονος ὀμνύουσιν καὶ πάσης αὐτοῖς ἀντιλογίας πέρας εἰς βεβαίωσιν ὅρκος
In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,17ἐν περισσότερον βουλόμενος Θεὸς ἐπιδεῖξαι τοῖς κληρονόμοις τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τὸ ἀμετάθετον τῆς βουλῆς αὐτοῦ ἐμεσίτευσεν ὅρκῳ
so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.18ἵνα διὰ δύο πραγμάτων ἀμεταθέτων ἐν οἷς ἀδύνατον ψεύσασθαι [τὸν] Θεόν ἰσχυρὰν παράκλησιν ἔχωμεν οἱ καταφυγόντες κρατῆσαι τῆς προκειμένης ἐλπίδος
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,19ἣν ὡς ἄγκυραν ἔχομεν τῆς ψυχῆς ἀσφαλῆ τε καὶ βεβαίαν καὶ εἰσερχομένην εἰς τὸ ἐσώτερον τοῦ καταπετάσματος
where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.20ὅπου πρόδρομος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν εἰσῆλθεν Ἰησοῦς κατὰ τὴν τάξιν Μελχισέδεκ ἀρχιερεὺς γενόμενος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
