Psalm 30
NIV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionEnglish Standard Version
A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.1I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.3O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.4Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.5For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."6As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.7By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.
To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:8To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
"What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?9“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help."10Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.12that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
