Psalm 30
NIV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.1A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic. I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me.
LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.2 LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.3 LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; You spared me from among those going down to the Pit.
Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.4Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.5For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning.
When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."6When I was secure, I said," I will never be shaken."
LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.7 LORD, when You showed Your favor, You made me stand like a strong mountain; when You hid Your face, I was terrified.
To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:8 LORD, I called to You; I sought favor from my Lord:"
"What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?9What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth?
Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help."10 LORD, listen and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper."
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,11You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.12so that I can sing to You and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever.
