Psalm 30
NIV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew Living Translation
A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.1I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.
LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.
You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.3You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.
Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.4Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.5For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."6When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”
LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.7Your favor, O LORD, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.
To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:8I cried out to you, O LORD. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,
"What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?9“What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?
Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help."10Hear me, LORD, and have mercy on me. Help me, O LORD.”
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,11You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.12that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!
